ABOUT THE FOUNDER
AERIELL ARMAS
Aeriell Armas is a Latina speaker and academic content creator who recently graduated with a PhD in clinical psychology. In response to a lack of representation in higher education, Aeriell created Grad Life Grind back in 2019 to help other first-generation students from historically marginalized backgrounds apply to and succeed in graduate school. Over the last 5 years, Aeriell has transparently shared her own journey through her doctoral program and provided tips and support to others along the way. Today, she continues to address disparities in higher education through various offerings at Grad Life Grind.
HELPING UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS APPLY TO & SUCCEED IN GRADUATE SCHOOL
Our Story
At Grad Life Grind, we’re passionate about making higher education accessible and achievable for everyone, especially students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
Our journey began with a simple mission: to guide prospective graduate students through the often complex application process and to help current grad students thrive in their academic pursuits.
We understand the unique challenges faced by first-generation students and others from diverse backgrounds, and we’re committed to providing the support and resources they need. Through our interactive webinars, personalized one-on-one sessions, and dynamic group coaching, we offer practical advice and encouragement tailored to each student's journey.
Beyond coaching, we engage with universities and organizations through paid speaking engagements, bringing our expertise directly to the communities that need it most. Our work also extends to social media, where we collaborate with brands that share our commitment to educational equity.
The heart of Grad Life Grind is our dedication to increasing representation in higher education. We’re here to empower students to not just dream big but to achieve those dreams, creating a more inclusive and diverse academic landscape for the future.
